Award-Winning Curriculum
ILIM school offers a full immersion program that integrates four (4) languages (English, Spanish, Mandarin, and Arabic ) where children learn standard learning concepts IN these languages. English, Spanish, Mandarin, and Arabic are the most widely spoken languages in the world. At ILIM, the lead teachers only speak in the target language, and, over time, children are expected to talk to teachers and peers only in these languages.
Each classroom design aligns with the Montessori and Reggio learning methods. The fully interactive Montessori-Reggio classroom settings inspire children to move about the learning activities with the support and engagement of four (4) native speaking lead teachers (English, Spanish, Mandarin, and Arabic). Teachers work collectively to create daily focal points, educational topics, and group activities. The classroom is themed to represent the language that is being taught; all Montessori-Reggio materials will be in the target language. Students will learn the same concepts, but they will be reinforced in the four languages.
Our learning method: Montessori & Reggio method
Montessori Method- Maria Montessori (1870-1952), the Montessori Method originator, believed the child could not develop if he is not surrounded by objects that permit him to act. According to Maria, "the child needs objects to act; they are like nourishment for his spirit."
Montessori education succeeds because it is based on the principles of the natural development of the child. The method meets the individual's needs, regardless of the child's learning style, social maturity, or ability. Each Montessori classroom is multi-aged and a prepared environment (with carefully arranged sequential learning materials) where children freely exercise their innate drive to work and learn. Their natural love of learning is encouraged by providing them opportunities to engage in spontaneous, meaningful activities under a trained adult's guidance. Through their work with the materials, the children develop concentration, motivation, persistence, and self-discipline.
Reggio Emilia Method- The Reggio Emilia approach emphasizes hands-on discovery experience that incorporates sensory awareness and language into the child-based learning model.
The philosophy's primary tenant is that all children are competent, curious, creative, and capable. Exploring their curiosities and interests can lead to a greater understanding and a greater desire to learn. Teachers support and guide children throughout their educational journey.
Multi Language Immersion
Multi-Language Immersion is the act of fully immersing oneself into multiple target languages where the target languages are the only language spoken, written, or heard within a specific time frame. We expose our students to the following four languages:
Mandarin: 1.05 billion people speak Mandarin around the world. China is the world's second-largest economy. Over the last 30 years, China has accounted for 10% of the world's average economic growth, making Mandrin one of the best languages to learn for business.
Spanish: About 527 million people speak Spanish globally, and more than 20 countries use Spanish as their official language. According to the British Council, 34% of business in the United Kingdom is conducted in Spanish.
Arabic: 422 million people speak Arabic, and in the last ten years, Arabic has grown by 2500%. Today business in Arabic is not confined to the oil industry but is used in the tourism, infrastructure, and fashion industry.
English: Worldwide, 983 million people speak English. English speakers can be found anywhere in the world. English is spoken in 94 countries, making it the most widespread language in the world!
